Pioneering New "Overseas Chinese-Trade Synergy" Model in Used Car Exports

Qi Degui, Vice Minister of the Economic and Technological Department of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC), recently led a research delegation to Luqiao District, Taizhou, conducting an on-site inspection of Zhejiang Kaihe Trading Co., Ltd. (Kai Motors) at its F7 Auto Plaza. The visit focused on evaluating the development and operation of the used car export liaison station utilizing overseas Chinese resources.

The delegation included Yu Genjun, Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese's Economic and Technological Department; Zhong Hang, staff member from ACFROC's General Office; and Yan Mingming, Second-Level Principal Staff Member from the provincial federation. They were accompanied by Tang Hongchuan, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Taizhou Overseas Chinese Federation, and Zhao Feng, Deputy Director of the Luqiao District United Front Work Department and concurrent Director of the District Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Chairman of the District Overseas Chinese Federation. Feng Jian, General Manager of Kai Motors, accompanied the delegation and reported on the company's development.

The research team first inspected the operational environment of the F7 Auto Plaza, gaining detailed understanding of the company's business layout and development history in used car exports. As one of China's first used car enterprises certified by the Ministry of Commerce, Kai Motors obtained its export qualification in May 2023. By 2024, both the company's used car export value and volume had ranked among the top three in Zhejiang Province, demonstrating strong growth momentum and market competitiveness.

During the subsequent symposium, Vice Minister Qi highly praised Luqiao District's achievements in integrating overseas Chinese resources and establishing connection platforms. He noted that through establishing the used car export liaison station and building 13 comprehensive overseas Chinese trade service stations domestically and internationally based on this model, the district has created a systematic and networked service system for trade facilitated by overseas Chinese, providing strong support for local enterprises to "go global."

Qi emphasized the need to adhere to the guidance of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. During the critical period of the 15th Five-Year Plan, efforts should further leverage local industrial characteristics and fully utilize the unique advantages of overseas Chinese who are familiar with local markets, laws, and networks. Using overseas Chinese as a bridge, enterprises can obtain precise information and channel support for expanding into overseas markets. He encouraged continuing to establish high-quality cooperation platforms to stimulate enthusiasm among overseas Chinese communities for participating in foreign trade development and returning home for investment, guiding them to become reliable promoters for "product globalization," thus forming a positive development pattern of "attracting foreign engagement through overseas Chinese and synergizing overseas Chinese resources with trade."

Luqiao District's innovative establishment of Taizhou's first used car liaison station utilizing overseas Chinese networks has driven foreign trade transactions to reach RMB 2.52 billion by focusing on system construction, product export, and trade cooperation. This has not only enhanced the district's foreign trade capacity but also provided replicable experience for the integration of overseas Chinese work and industrial development across the province and nationwide.

Feng Jian, General Manager of Kai Motors, stated that the company would take this research visit as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation with the overseas Chinese system, expand its international network, and optimize its service chain, thereby supporting Chinese used cars in reaching broader global markets.

This inspection reflects ACFROC's high attention to the integration of local overseas Chinese affairs and economic development. It also injects new momentum for Luqiao District and Taizhou City to further advance the "overseas Chinese-trade synergy" and build a new open economic system.
